LGBTQ CHAT ROOM
Health & Help Chat is honored to bring you the Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay, Transgender, Queer/Questioning Chat Room, forum and social network. We are strong advocates of people embracing and accepting who they are, and we understand that there are times where that very personal acceptance is not welcomed by sometimes, and most unfortunately, those we care about the most. We also recognize that there are those who are accepted unconditionally by their loved ones as well. We here at Health & Help Chat wish to give all of the LGBTQ community the chance to connect and support one another in friendship and love in a safe environment.
We understand the many pressures associated with both living openly in the LGBTQ community and the pain and loneliness in feeling like you must live a closeted existence. Many of these pressures come from stigma, social isolation, family relationships, homophobia and transphobia. Having to face these issues alone can often lead to depression and/or anxiety disorders. Statistics show that an estimated 3.5% of people in the US alone identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual and 0.3% of adults are transgendered. This implies that there are 9 million Americans alone that identify as LGBTQ. Health & Help Chat recognizes that the LGBTQ community is large and in some cases being LGBTQ can lead to the mental health conditions listed above, for example, depression. Our network is offering a forum to the LGBTQ community to not only forge new friendships, but to hopefully help those who find themselves depressed, friendless or anxious due to lack of acceptance.
Health & Help Chat invites you to use this medium to connect with others who share your experiences and struggles through your own personal life journey. We encourage all of our members to support each other with kindness and compassion, free from judgment so that everyone can share their thoughts and feelings. Every person who visits Health & Help Chat for support purposes has an important voice that is welcome on our network.
